What spaciousness has autumn opened up for you? It is still warm here in the Midwest, but there is a chill in the evening air. Day is equal to night, and the transition of summer busyness gives way to an inward winter. This autumn surrenders itself to openness. What can you let go of to make space for what you need? Letting go of the work drama to make space for presence. Letting go of scrolling endlessly on a dark screen to make space for time in the sunlight we have left. Letting go of the high expectations you have for yourself, and giving way to allowing things to be how they are. Accepting that, while goals are good and needed, we can be content in the here and now, too.
Dreams are amazing, but I often become so consumed and busy with the desire to reach the next destination, the next goal, and I lose track of all surrounding me now. How far I’ve already come, some would say. So, while I’m still planning, dreaming, thinking, and feeling out all the ways I want my future to look and be like, I hope this autumn I can be in the here and now. Life as I know it will pass by me in a few seconds and be a blur. What will I choose to be and remember? What do you choose to be and remember? Here’s to loving, being, and allowing our lives and ourselves to be just how we are, right now.
